Defender to stick around

BUXTON FC has secured the services of defender Curtley Williams until at least the end of the year, the club has announced.

Williams, who has been praised in recent weeks for his performances at the heart of the Bucks’ defence, will continue to play for the Silverlands side on a joint registration with his parent club AFC Telford United.

The centre-half was back in the Buxton squad for Saturday’s 4-2 win over Garforth Town after missing the previous fixture at Marine through illness.

“Curtley is enjoying playing for the club and I know supporters have been encouraged by his performances,” John Reed commented in his programme notes ahead of last Saturday’s match against Garforth.
