Buxton Christians 3, FC United of Tideswell 3

BUXTON Christians twice threw away the lead in this full-blooded encounter, as Tideswell battled back to earn a point.

The Christians led 2-0 within 15 minutes, both superbly set-up by Dunn on the left flank. First he squared for Heathcote to beat the keeper from 12 yards, and then another pass set-up Carr for a fine shot which the Tideswell keeper got a hand to but couldn’t keep out of the net.

Tideswell pulled one back direct from a corner, before the goal of the game by Carr restored Christians’ two-goal lead as he played a couple of one-twos before lashing a shot past the keeper from 25 yards out.

The visitors dominated the second period to fully deserve their two goals, and but for a couple of superb saves by Eyre in the Christians goal the result could have been different.
