THE WEATHER got the better of all but two fixtures in the Baris FA North Midlands Under-19s League.

In Division Two, third-placed Retford United suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to Southwell City, courtesy of goals from by Ben Cree and Billy Pycroft. Luke Walker scored Retford’s goal.

Second-placed Pinxton FC made the short journey to Scrooby Road to face Harworth Colliery and returned home victorious thanks to goals by Kieron Wells and Joe Wright.

The coming week sees just two hastily rearranged games, but both could have a significant bearing on league placings.

In Division One, leaders Staveley entertain struggling Long Eaton United at Inkersall Green tonight (Monday), while in Division Three the twice cancelled derby clash between table-toppers Ilkeston Town and a fast-improving Buxton FC will be played at The New Manor Ground on Wednesday (kick-off 7.45pm).
