Ash Burbeary has earned praise from Buxton manager Martin McIntosh after an impressive ‘second debut’ during last weekend’s win at Skelmersdale.
The 28-year-old returned to the Silverlands in what was effectively a swap deal, with Jonathan Williams moving to Belper Town.
After putting in a man-of-the-match performance in the crucial league win, his first appearance in a Bucks’ shirt in nine years, Burbeary earned plenty of praise from his new manager.
McIntosh said: “I thought Ash Burbeary made the difference on Saturday.
“He chased a lot of lost causes and was very unlucky not to score.
“I think he’ll be a real asset to us and he’s a special signing.”
McIntosh admits that Williams needed more game-time and praised the midfielder’s attitude to the move.
He added: “Jonathan said he needed to play and it must have been frustrating for him, not getting as much action as he would have liked.
“He said he wanted to go and get some games and he’s dealt with it brilliantly.”
