Buxton extended their encouraging away form with a stalemate in Manchester last Saturday, with both sides being reduced to ten men.

This goalless affair means the Bucks have now lost just once in ten outings away from home all season.

A point may be considered a decent result yet the Bucks came the closest to finding the net while Andy Warrington’s goal was rarely threatened.

The veteran goalkeeper’s return was one of four Buxton changes, including a debut for new signing Carlos Logan.

A goalless affair seemed highly unlikely after the opening 15 minutes, with both sides creating goal-scoring chances. Logan was impressive in this period with his curling cross having to be dealt with by the Trafford stopper in only the first minute.

Moments later Craig King’s power drive was tipped behind for a corner.

Trafford’s danger-man was right-winger Shelton Payne who forced Warrington into a smart, early save.

Before half-time Derek Niven headed against the bar from just a couple of yards out,

The second-half was a poor display from both sides, with chances few and far between.

In the last ten minutes both teams were reduced to ten men.

First, the Bucks saw Niven head for an early bath after a rash challenge before Trafford’s Andy Smart was dismissed for a confrontation with Lee Morris.
