Buxton face two cup matches in the space of two days after their FA Trophy second round qualifying clash was called off on Wednesday night.
The Bucks’ players were warming up on the Sheffield FC pitch when the referee decided to cancel the game less than 30 minutes before kick-off due to unplayable conditions.
The decision was met with frustration by supporters, players and manager Martin McIntosh.
McIntosh said: “It was very disappointing because the players were already out doing their warm-up and I’ve been in that situation and you just want to get the game going.
“It’s frustrating for everybody but the referee has made the decision and we just have to accept it.”
The tie has now been re-arranged for Tuesday, November 12 - just 24 hours before the trip to Carlton Town in the League Cup.
The short turnaround between games means McIntosh is likely to shuffle his pack and possibly include a number of youngsters over the course of the two games.
He added: “We’ve got a backlog of games now and inevitably that means a few of the younger players might get a chance, especially in these two cup matches.”
Buxton return to league action when they host Marine on Saturday.
