OVER 50 youngsters took part in the first ever ‘Bucks in the Community’ football camp last week.
Activities included football skills, techniques and activities, a Silverlands ground tour and quiz, and making pictures of favourite Buxton players made to pin-up in the dressing rooms, culminating in a World Cup on the final day in front of parents and club officials.
Bucks Community Coach Chris Hill hailed the camp a success: “Despite some inclement weather all the children have been excellent and enjoyed every minute.
“Credit must go to the coaches from the University of Derby and everyone at the club, especially the new marketing manager Jake Burnham.
“We hope this will be the first of many ventures into the local community.”
As well as the presentation of medals, prizes, trophies and certificates, the children will also have the chance to meet the Buxton first team squad on the pitch ahead of this weekend’s game against Whitby.
