BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY PREVIEW: Stocksbridge Park Steels v Buxton FC, New Mills AFC v Stamford (3pm kick-offs)

BUXTON FC will attempt to halt their five-game losing streak as they travel to Stocksbridge Park Steels on Bank Holiday Monday.

Both teams head into this Evo-Stik Premier Division fixture on the back of big defeats at the weekend; Buxton 4-0 losers to FC United of Manchester and Stocksbridge suffering a 5-1 hammering at big-spending Chester FC.

Despite three defeats on their travels, The Steels are unbeaten at home so far this season following a 1-0 win over Stafford Rangers and a 1-1 draw against Ashton United.

Buxton, meanwhile, are yet to get off the mark, and are without a league win since April 12, ironically when the Bucks last met Stocksbridge, beating them 4-1 at the Look Local Stadium.

Despite their goalless draw at Coalville Town on Saturday, unbeaten New Mills AFC managed to cling on to top spot in the Evo-Stik First Division South.

The Millers’ opponents at Church Lane on Monday, Stamford AFC, are yet to win on their travels, but three home wins, the latest a 3-0 victory against Shepshed Dynamo on Saturday, sees the Lincolnshire side occupy seventh place in the table.
