Both of Disley’s senior sides suffered disappointing defeats as the Meller Braggins Cheshire Cricket League draws to a close.
The 1st XI missed the chance to jump into the top half of the table as they let Alderley Park off the hook at the Amalgamated Sports Club.
Jake Reynolds (30) led a team effort of 163-6 but the visitors sneaked home from the penultimate ball, eight wickets down as Simon Hare claimed 6-47.
The 2nd XI couldn’t build on opener Ed Clark’s 47 as they also saw their total overhauled in the reverse fixture.
Sunday saw the club host a three-team Twenty20 tournament.
Disley’s side were sadly defeated in both of their fixtures, but largely because some of the 1st XI’s biggest hitters were playing for the eventual winners from the Moorside Grange Hotel.
They defeated a Sri Lankan Invitational XI in a hard-hitting final on an enjoyable day of cricket.
