Disley’s batsmen fall victim to Sandbach’s overseas star player

Struggles continue for Disley 1st XI as they again fell victim to an opposition’s overseas player.

Only captain Andrew Clarke (84 not out) came to terms with the leg-spin of Akash Molhaltra (6-42) as he skittled Disley for 131.

Earlier, the Indian all-rounder had made 50 not out in Sandbach’s tally of 184.

A young 2nd XI fared little better in the reverse fixture, losing by the emphatic margin of 120 runs.

Neither the under-15s or under-13s were in action on Sunday, but there was a high-scoring friendly at Ashford-in-the-Water.

A team effort from Disley saw them bowled out for 181 in the first innings, a total the opposition surpassed for the loss of seven wickets, with skipper Adam Burgess adding three wickets to his 26 runs in the first innings.
