Disley 1st XI collected a third consecutive win to strengthen their position in a competitive Meller Braggins Cheshire Cricket League Division Three.
They scored a resounding victory at fourth-placed Stretton by 117 runs, dismissing the opposition for just 44.
Pacemen Toby Carson (4-10) and Simon Hare (4-11) were the chief destroyers after Andrew Clarke (78) and James Banner’s century stand set up a winning position.
Madusha Wettasinghe again starred for the 2nd XI, crashing 71 invaluable runs, but it wasn’t enough to stop promotion-chasing Trafford MV collecting an eight-wicket win in front of a big crowd, as the Disley Amalgamated Sports Club also hosted the Disley Show.
The weekend finished with a friendly win at Youlgrave, Disley’s youngsters again impressing as under-15s Henry Clark (48) and John Chapman (46 not out) guided a successful run chase.
