Disley cyclist Dame Sarah shortlisted for SPOTY 2016
The Disley cyclist became Great Britain’s most decorated female Paralympian after the three golds at the summer’s Games in Rio took her tally to 14 titles in swimming and cycling.
Success on the track in the C5 3000m individual pursuit saw Dame Sarah re-write the history books, following it up with two further wins on the road in the C5 time trial and C4-5 road race.

“Thanks to everyone who has sent messages of congrats & to my team mates for starting the #VoteDameSarah. Would love to have your vote on the night!”
It has been quite a journey for the cyclist who returned to elite sport after becoming a mother three years ago.
In a year to remember she has also won a gold and two silvers at the Para-cycling Track World Championships.
