The team was entered and sponsored by Pak-Pro Limited of Whaley Bridge, with the proceeds of the entry going to Derbyshire Air Ambulance.

The Rams were first up against a Yorkshire side that had England legend John Embury as their professional.

Yorkshire batted first and put up a creditable score of 44 off the five overs in the face of disciplined bowling from the Rams.

A downturn in the weather meant the Rams had to play three games in quick succession once the rain had stopped.

They achieved notable victories against high quality teams to ensure they reached the final where they would meet Sussex Sloggers.

As the light faded the Rams provided a master-class of batting, racking up 67 from their 5 overs - the highest score of the day.

Sussex were unable to successfully chase the total and Ostler was given the honour of bowling the last over, as the Rams eased to a victory that will live long in the memory.
