The first half of the feat was completed on August, 4 during the League Finals day.

The format was 20/20, and Buxworth first defeated Hayfield in the semi-final before coming up against a strong Hadfield side in the final having already defeated them in the Compstall Cup semi-final a week earlier.

Buxworth won the toss and chose to bat first scoring what they thought was a below average score of 106, mainly thanks to 36 from Dan Gilbride and 25 not out from James Rothwell.

Buxworth went out to defend this total with rain in the air and in between a heavy shower, which nearly ended the match prematurely, managed to restrict Hadfield to just 62-9 after their 20 overs.

The result ensured Buxworth were crowned league champions and the team then started preparations for the Compstall Cup Final on September 1.

Hawk Green were their opponents in the final, and Buxworth won the toss and decided to bat first.

Gilbride was run out for a magnificent 103 with Buggy finishing the innings on 245-4 with Critchlow finishing 43 not out.

In reply Hawk Green lost wickets far too regularly to mount a decent challenge as Ross Hammond returned figures of 4-17 as Hawk Green were all out for 108.

Gilbride was unsurprisingly awarded the Andy Bowers Man of the Match award.
