Buxton Cricket Club’s third team won their second match of the season, when they travelled to Whittington Wanderers seconds.
Having lost the toss Buxton were inserted on a well-prepared wicket, but long grass in the outfield resulted in very few boundaries.
Most of the batsman got a start with Fran Slater batting well in a third-wicket partnership.
Some lower order hitting by debutant Dave Edwards boosted the total, but a hat-trick of wickets by Barfoot prevented Buxton getting more than 102.
Tight, economical bowling was needed to keep Whittington in check and Edwards duly obliged taking 3-18 from 12 overs.
There were further wickets for Harry Gould and Richard Beswick, but the most encouraging performances were from young duo Dan Capell and Tom Lisser, who on his debut, finished with 4-8 as Whittington could only reach 61.
