Buxton Men’s first team began with hope and dreams in their hearts, but this unfortunately did not last long as they quickly went 1-0 behind.

But they rallied well for the next five minutes and a good driving run from Max Bartholomew, beating four players, saw him find himself one-on-one with the Ramgarhia keeperr. He picked his spot in the bottom corner, but missed by about 10 feet.

This was as close as Buxton would come to scoring, despite a few short corners and shots on target.

The opposition kept scoring with some lovely movement and passing play - something Buxton couldn’t cope or replicate themselves as they trailed 5-0 at half-time.

Not much could be said or done and the score kept creeping until it finally settled at 9-0, not a good outing for Buxton.

Training over Christmas and into the New Year will be key to turning around Buxton’s fortunes.
