Buxton men took a mix of players from the first, second and third teams and were left pleased with their display.

Playing with a true spirit of enjoying their hockey, within the first 30 seconds Joe Grindey deflected a ball into the net from a Dan Lowton pass.

Buxton soon bagged two more before South Manchester found the net through a misunderstanding in the Buxton defence.

Buxton started the second half with a change in formation, but South Manchester had found their feet and piled on the pressure.

And, with Dan Bedworth losing his cool and seeing a yellow card, Buxton were down to 10 men for five minutes.

Fighting back, Buxton had plenty of chances to increase the lead and would have done if it weren’t for the acrobatics of the opposition’s keeper.

Unfortunately Buxton’s defence couldn’t keep their opponents out as they slipped to defeat.
