Buxton boxers fighting all over the country
The club works to support athletes at all levels of the amateur sport, from newcomers to elite level talents.
A fully affiliated, not-for-profit organisation, the club is operated by a team of qualified coaching staff.

Hide AdCiaran Broomhead, who boxed competitively himself, is one of the club’s coaches.
He says keeping fighters active has long been part of the ethos of the Dale Road organisation, who have tasted success in the ring.
“It was founded in 1983 and has build a proud record and reputation for consistently producing well-schooled, fit boxers,” he said.
“We maintain a busy schedule, travelling the length and breadth of the country for competitive bouts.

Hide Ad“Hard work in the gym, and development from a challenging schedule has seen Buxton ABC produce numerous national and area champions at all levels.”
The gym is open to members just wanting to use the facilities to keep fit, but there are also those with their eye on competitive boxing glory.
Broomhead added: “We encourage a strong team ethic and the positive and inclusive atmosphere is central to our ongoing success.

Hide Ad“People of all ages, experience and fitness work together to achieve their individual goals, be that to increase their fitness, box competitively or become best in class.
“The future continues to look positive with a current squad of around 10 registered boxers who will compete in up to 10 bouts per season and represent the club across Novice and Open Class Championships.”

Hide AdBuxton ABC, who are supported by Dale Road Dairy, host an annual show to allow their registered boxers to showcase their talents.
This year’s event, at the Devonshire Dome, will take place on 25th November.

Hide AdFees are £15 per month, which includes all training sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Men and women are welcome, from the age of nine.
The club are looking for potential sponsors and would welcome interest from local firms.
