Buxton RUFC’s director of rugby says his side must learn to stop ‘beating themselves’ after they were beaten 32-2 by Belper.

Buxton showed little composure throughout the team, no structure and, at times, little real desire to take the points as Belper cruised to a comfortable win.

Karl Degroot said: “The boys didn’t really show any level of composure througout the game.

“We had the rub of the green this week, but were not able really to capitailise on the amount of possession that we had, mainly to poor decision making, resulting in a considerable amount of ball being turned over.

“Our early season form suggested that we would be difficult to beat, currently we seem intent on beating ourselves.

“Once we sort that out, I am sure the boys will return to winning ways, as I havent really seen any side yet in the league that can live with the recently missing Buxton and that’s not fantasy.

“I think anyone that watched early on in the season would agree, so it’s all rarther difficult to work out.”
