Theatrical youngsters have the chance to take part in a celebration of a Victorian melodrama.
The twentieth international Gilbert and Sullivan Festival is due to take place between July 27 and August 17 and children are being invited to audition for a youth production of The Pirates of Penzance.
There will be matinee and evening performances of the operetta at the Pavilion Arts Centre, on Saturday, August 3.
This will be following an educational week of rehearsals with professional Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company director John Savournin.
The summer school offers young people aged between nine and 19 a rare and exceptional week of tuition, culminating in two performances accompanied by an with orchestra.
Auditions will take place in The Palace Hotel on Saturday May 25 at 10.30am to 12.30pm.
No previous experience is necessary.
