People are objecting to HGV parking on Tongue Lane industrial estate.
Only a few months ago people were objecting to a small extension to a railway siding in Buxton which would facilitate the transfer of many tonnes of freight from road to rail.
What exactly do people want? Closure of the quarries with the loss of all those jobs?
I know my preferred option is increasing the use of rail, but then, living near the A6 with its convoys of 44 tonnes lorries, perhaps I am biased.
