Deaf and hearing Support, who have been working alongside audiology services in the High Peak for 20 years, have been chosen by Bamford WI as their charity of the year.

The WI will be hosting a coffee morning on Saturday May 12, at the end of Deaf Awareness Week, in the Moore Memorial Hall, Bamford, from 10am to noon.

Deaf and Hearing Support’s clinics are held in the first week of every month. The next take place on: today (Thursday) at Cavendish Hospital, Buxton; and tomorrow (Friday) at Glossop’s George St Clinic.

Volunteers will offer information on additional aids to support hearing aid users with the television, out and about and ways to use telephones with a hearing loss.

The loss of hearing can be very isolating and is not always understood by others. If you or someone you know is affected by deafness or hearing loss, visit the clinics or call their head office on 01246 555 934.
