The Met Office has forecast snow for the Peak District this evening.
Today will have a cloudy and windy start but mainly dry. Rain will soon be moving into the Peak District, with gusty downpours likely as rain clears southeast around midday, perhaps with brief hill snow.
Lingering rain and hill snow early this afternoon will move away to leave sunshine and a few showers, wintry on the hills. It will be turning colder, with sunshine and showers following. Maximum temperature 10 °C.
Tonight will be cold, with clear spells and wintry showers, easing by midnight as the wind strengthens and backs southwest, with rain arriving in the west later. Any snow will be restricted to hills. It will be cloudier and milder in the northwest by dawn, colder with frost possible elsewhere. Minimum temperature 0 °C.
