Heavy snow is covering parts of Derbyshire this morning after temperatures plunged last night.
The Peak travel Watch Facebook page reports that there has been a serious accident on Holker Road, Buxton.

Long hill is described as very icy, people turning back.
Also, the back road between Dove Holes and Long Lane in Chapel very treacherous.
Cat and Fiddle, Snake Pass and Woodhead Pass are all open still but described as treacherous.
On the A6 Dove Holes a lorry blocking junction has cleared.

The Met Office issued a severe weather warning.
A 1,200-mile 'tongue of ice' will blow in from Canada, which could cause temperatures to drop to -10C in some parts of the country.
Forecasters are predicting icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths, making injuries or accidents more likely.
Showers of rain, hail and sleet are likely leading to a risk of ice on some surfaces as temperatures fall below freezing. Some snow is also possible.
