Storm Ciara causes havoc across High Peak
The violent weather front - powered by a north Atlantic jet stream - battered Buxton and surrounding areas with winds of up to 60mph.
As well as snowfall on Monday huge rain downpours left roads inundated with flood water while ferocious winds ripped up trees.

Sheraton Way, Buxon
A huge tree was wrenched from the ground - narrowly missing a house nearby.
The exposed roots and size of the trunk show the devastation it would have caused had it landed on the roof off the property.
Matthew Armett, 14, who lives nearby and took pictures, said: “I live on Sheraton Way and a large tree in the woodland area below my house has fallen down narrowly missing a neighbour’s house.”

Winds knocked a hefty tree down directly over Buxton’s Serpentine next to an often-busy footpath.
