Met Office issues yellow warning for High Peak as strong winds expected in midweek

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the High Peak, with strong winds expected to batter England and Wales in the middle of the week.

Hilly areas may be hit by gusts of 60-70 miles per hour and heavy and blustery showers from 9pm on Wednesday until 3pm on Thursday. For low lying areas, winds will reach up to 55 mph.

Road and rail transport may be disrupted, and there is a possibility of short term loss of power and other services.
