Today it will be cold and windy particularly across the Pennines where it will be rather cloudy with wintry showers. Some may be heavy and lead to temporary accumulations. Staying largely dry with occasional sunny spells across eastern parts. Maximum temperature 5 °C.
Tonight, there will be heavy snow from 6pm with temperatures falling to -1C between periods of light snow and mist. Heavy snow is expected to continue up until 7am before sunny intervals in the afternoon.
