Warning to Buxton motorists following thefts

Motorists in Buxton are being urged to lock their cars after 12 have been targeted by thieves in two weeks.

During the latest incident, four vehicles were broken into overnight between Wednesday, September 26 and Thursday, September 27.

An iPod, sat nav, bag and bowling balls were taken from the vehicles parked on Cliff Road, Sylvan Cliff, Dale Road and Montpelier Place.

Sgt Jon Lloyd of the Buxton Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “We are urging people to remain vigilant as thieves are likely to take any opportunity you give them. The message is simple; lock your vehicle and remove your belongings.”
