Buxton and Edale Mountain Rescue Teams come to the aid ofa fallen walker with a possible fractured wrist.

The call out to Kinder Scout came on Thursday evening, August 18.

A mum and her daughter had enjoyed a good days walking on Kinder Scout, and were descending into Edale when the daughter fell.

Initial reports indicated their location as being on Grindslow Knoll, but following an Iphone GPS Sarloc fix the pair were determined to be on The Nab, which is on the opposite side of the valley from their reported location.

Team members made their way up to The Nab and located the pair. The daughter had fallen whilst descending across The Nab down towards Edale and suffered a suspected fractured wrist.

Treatment on site was carried out by team members and the casualty was then packaged, placed on to a mountain rescue stretcher and evacuated downhill to the waiting land ambulance in Edale Village before being conveyed to hospital.
