Volunteers rallied to a call for help with the cleaning and painting of railings around the Bugsworth Basin Heritage site.
Trustees only just had enough paint brushes to meet the demand.
Fine weather, coupled with a great response from people in the area, meant that almost three days’ work was completed in just two.
Mark Lomas publicity officer for the Bugsworth Basin Heritage Trust said: “It was uplifting to see so many new faces amongst the volunteers who came along; we put out a call for volunteers on posters around the area and social media. Volunteering is important to the future of the site and we appreciate even just a few hours of someone’s time.”
