The sun shone on Sparrowpit for the WI annual Produce Show at the Institute.
The entries were good and the vegetables, flowers, crafts and art plus a great display a display of homecraft filled the Institute with colour and atmosphere. The tombola drum kept spinning and the judges did a good job.
The prize winners were happy and also afternoon customers fortified with tea and home-made cakes. The presentation of cups was carried out by the popular Colin Sykes of BBC North West, who had a word with everyone he met.
Also there was a quick look-in by the MP Andrew Bingham.
The auction of produce was conducted by a persuasive Bill Barratt, and a vote of thanks for all the helpers was given by President Sheila Barratt and Fred Williamson.
