A COMMUNITY event which has been running for over 100 years is under threat due to a shortage of support.
Whaley Bridge Rose Queen Carnival is appealing for new members to take over roles vacated by long-standing committee members.
Anyone interested in getting involved is being urged to attend the event’s annual general meeting, at Whaley Bridge Bowling Club on Tuesday January 31, at 8pm.
Spokesman Matthew Forrest said: “Whaley Bridge Rose Queen Carnival has been going for over 100 years and is in serious jeopardy if we cannot find new members to eventually take over the roles done by long-standing committee members.”
At the AGM, nominations for new committee members will be considered.
