VIDEO: Watch BMX stunt team wow at Chapel High School

Sports leaders from schools across the High Peak gathered at Chapel High and were inspired by a display of BMX riding, Buxton Community's Mr O'Brien volunteers

Organised by the High Peak Schools Sports Partnership, the Aspire 2 B day was aimed at giving children from Year 8 onwards the skills they need to organise matches and write reports, as well as encourage more to get keep active and get involved in sport.

The event was held at Chapel-en-le-Frith High School.

Sports partnership co-ordinator Katie Amps said: “We are providing the children with new opportunities to develop different skills.

“To be involved in sports you don’t have to be sporty, there is so much work that goes on behind the scenes which is just as important.”

All students who take part in the programme will get recognition that can be included on their CV.

Katie said: “We are trying to encourage the next generation of leaders and young ambassadors.

“The students are all working hard so the Extreme Wheels performance was just a reward for their hard work.”

Extreme Wheels performed at another event, at Whaley Bridge Memorial Park, which was aimed at encouraging primary school children to get fit using the park’s facilities.
