Snow is continuing to cause problems across the High Peak today (Friday) with many schools and roads once again closed.
In addition, the poor conditions mean High Peak Buses have suspended some services, and buses are currently unable to serve Buxton Market Place.
Current road closures include the A57 Snake Pass, the A6024 Holme Moss, Rushup Edge, Winnatts Pass and Monks Road.
The A537 Cat and Fiddle, A54 Buxton to Congleton, A628 Woodhead Pass, and A53 Buxton to Leek Road have now opened but drivers are being warned to take extra care. High Peak Buses have suspended services 11, 14, 58, 60, 62, 62A, 63, 64, 76, 77, 101, 102, 103, 104, 185/186, 389, 390, 393. The Transpeak service is running but not serving Taddington or Chelmorton. The 190 cannot serve Peak Dale or Small Dale and is terminating at Tesco, Whaley Bridge. The 392 is running as 393 and will not serve villages along the route and the 442 is operating via Glutton Bridge and Hartington and will not serve Biggin or Tissington.
Services are currently using the train station as they cannot use Buxton Market Place.
Buxton and Leek College’s two campuses remain closed today, as does the household waste recycling centre at Waterswallows, Buxton.
All High Peak rubbish and recycling collections have been suspended.
