The High Peak has been blanketed by snow this morning, with several roads and schools being closed.

Snow has been falling for a number of hours in the borough with more forecast throughout the day.

Roads which are currently closed include the A537 Cat and Fiddle Road, the A54 Congleton Road and the A53 Leek Road.

The Snake Pass is also closed in both directions between Ladybower Reservoir and the Royal Oak Inn, Glossop.

There are also hazardous driving conditions on the A5004 Long Hill.

Transport

Trains are now running on the Buxton to Manchester line but with some delays, after a broken down train caused disruption this morning.

High Peak buses service 11 has been suspended due to the road conditions.

Service 199 is unable to operate through Peak Dale.

The Buxton Town Service is operating as a 185.
