Harriet Harman MP, Deputy Leader of the Labour Party, visited Buxton today (Thursday) where she enjoyed a tour behind the scenes of the town’s magnificent Crescent.
Ms Harman, who is also the Shadow Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, praised the project to transform the Grade I listed building into a 79-bedroom, five-star spa hotel.
She said: “This building is of national and European importance. It is imperative to ensure that it is protected both to put an end to the heartache of local people who have seen it crumbling and also to provide opportunities for the future.”
