Vandals have gone on a wrecking spree in the High Peak – damaging more than 20 vehicles.

Sometime between 10.30pm on Friday and 12.30am the following morning, offenders used a sharp instrument to damage the paintwork of 26 vehicles along New Mills Road and Hayfield Road in Birch Vale and Glossop Road in Little Hayfield.

PCSO Lee Baker, of Derbyshire police, said: “We will be stepping up patrols and are currently viewing CCTV to find those responsible.

“We’d also like to speak to any residents who have private CCTV as they may have footage which could help our investigations.

“Damage has been caused to a large number of vehicles by the vandals and with your help we can bring them to justice.”

Witnesses or anyone with information about the crimes should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
