Two Peak charities have received just short of £12,000 in funding as part of the Health Lottery which supports health- related causes all over the country.
The Buxton and District Summer Club runs a 14-day fun club each year for youngsters between five and 17 who suffer from mental and physical disabilities.
The other lucky organisation to receive almost £6,000 is The Farming Life Centre who provide support for dementia sufferers and their carers in the Buxton and Bakewell area.
The group have organised a year-long programme which will benefit six individuals with the condition through a series of fortnightly sessions offering respite for carers and support for sufferers.
lHealthCalm Community Interest Company are part of The Health Lottery and raise money with the aim of addressing health inequalities in communities nationwide.
