Two men charged with Christmas Whaley Bridge burglary and theft

Two men have been charged with a burglary and a theft in the Whaley Bridge area at Christmas.

Robert Allcock, 46, of Ashton Road, Denton, has been charged with two counts of non-dwelling burglary, one theft from a vehicle and one attempted theft from a vehicle.

Allan Wood, 44, of Tintagel Walk, Hyde, has also been charged with two counts of non-dwelling burglary, one theft from a vehicle and two counts of attempted theft from a vehicle.

The alleged incident happened during Christmas Eve and in the early hours of Christmas Day.

It is in connection with a series of incidents on Shallcross Mill Road, Elnor Lane, Walters Wood and Mevril Springs Way.

The charges have been brought following an investigation by the High Peak Crime Action Team.

Both men are due to appear before magistrates in Stockport for a hearing on Monday, July 23.
