Tributes paid to Flagg crash victim

Tributes have been paid to a mother–of–two who was tragically killed in a head–on crash in Flagg.

Wendy Jayne Slater, of Rakes Road, Monyash, was travelling along the A515 Flagg Moor stretch on Thursday April 24 at 6.45am in a silver Vauxhall Corsa when she was involved in a collision with a green Jaguar.

The 45–year–old was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Jaguar, a 55–year–old man from Chapel–en–le–Frith, was taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Wendy leaves behind a husband and two children.

Commenting on Facebook, Caroline Prince said: “It’s just so horrible, such a lovely woman. Couldn’t sleep last night thinking of her poor little kids and husband.

“Wish there was something we could do.”

Vivian Tabbenor added: “Will miss you on the school run. God bless you everyone will keep a special eye on your two.”

Sam Hodkin posted: “It is so tragic that life can be taken so suddenly and unexpectedly. Thoughts are with Wendy’s family. RIP Wendy.”

Mr A Allegro said on Twitter: “Very sad. I went to school with Wendy in Ashbourne, a lovely girl.”

The Collision Investigation Unit is appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or who was in the area at the time to contact them on 101.
