Drivers have faced lengthy delays following an accident and roadworks in Buxton town centre earlier today (Thursday)
A crash involving two vehicles blocked part of Station Road shortly before lunchtime, with queuing traffic adding to the delays associated with temporary lights at the bottom of Terrace Road. A lorry unloading on Fairfield Road compounded the gridlock, according to motorists.
High Peak Buses reported delays to its services operating in and around the town centre.
The temporary lights are in place during pavement and drainage works near to the junction with The Crescent - which itself is now closed to traffic until September next year to accommodate a works compound associated with the building’s long-awaited redevelopment.
