Cat and Fiddle was passable with care this morning

Gritters with ploughs have been out since 3am clearing drifting snow where possible.

A spokesman said: “As quickly as we clear the snow the wind is causing it to drift back over the road in these locations.

"The road conditions are very changeable at short notice due to strong winds creating drifting.”

Other main roads currently experiencing disruptive drifting but passable with care include;

A54/A537 Cat and Fiddle
