One person in hospital after New Mills crash

One person was taken to hospital after a crash involving two cars in New Mills on Friday afternoon.

Emergency services attended the A6015 Albion Road shortly after 5pm following the collision between a Renault Clio and a Hyundai Getz, which ended up on its roof.

Fire crews from Glossop and Whaley Bridge used cutting equipment to release a 68-year-old man who was trapped in the Hyundai.

Police say the man was taken to Stepping Hill Hospital for treatment to a head injury which was not thought to be life-threatening.

The road was closed for around two hours.
