A Buxton man has been seriously injured after a collision on St John’s Road earlier today (Friday).
The accident involving the 36-year-old pedestrian and a Vauxhall Corsa happened at 2am. It is believed the pedestrian was crossing the road at the time.
The injured man was taken to Stepping Hill Hospital but was then transferred to Salford Royal Hospital where he remains in intensive care. His condition is described as very poorly.
He has head injuries and broken bones including broken legs.
Police, who re-opened the road at 6.50am, are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information is urged to contact them on 101.
