Traffic restrictions plan for clough

STATUTORY bodies and recreational user groups are being consulted about whether traffic restrictions should be placed on a sensitive Peak District National Park green lane.

The Peak District National Park Authority has written to parish councils and highway authorities, as well as recreational groups representing a range of interests from motor vehicle users through to walkers, to get their views on whether restrictions should be put in place at Roych Clough, near Chapel-en-le-Frith.

During the 28-day consultation, groups are being asked if traffic regulation orders are needed or not and anyone who says they are needed will then be asked to consider what form they should take and how long they should be in place.

Once all the relevant bodies have been consulted members of the Peak District National Park Authority’s audit, resources and performance committee will consider the issue on July 20.
