Whaley Bridge tradesman David Mellers has won a brand new Vauxhall Vivaro van worth £20,000 in a competition.

The 1.6 CDTi van was given away as part of a promotional campaign which saw TradePoint – B&Q’s trade-only building materials supplier – team up with Vauxhall to display the new van at selected branches up and down the country.

And 43-year-old David, who launched Tollbar Services Ltd two years ago, was the lucky winner. David, an independent digital media installer who relies on a trusty set of wheels to service clients right across Europe, said: “I was absolutely astonished to hear that I’d won .

“I entered whilst buying TradePoint goods online one day and then forgot all about it.

“As a tradesperson who travels a lot for my work, it’s essential that I have transport that is reliable and presentable and I couldn’t be happier to be on the road in this lovely new Vauxhall.”
