Tips to help you achieve resolution

Derbyshire health bosses have issued advice for High Peak residents to help them stick to their new year’s resolutions.

The move comes as thousands of people set themselves goals for 2015.

Dr Ben Milton, chair of NHS North Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), and a Peak District GP, said: “Many resolutions that are taken are around health.

“Whether it is losing weight, quitting smoking, exercising more, drinking less alcohol or eating more fruit and vegetables, more often than not we just can’t achieve our goals.

“Breaking your goal down into a series of steps and giving yourself a small reward whenever you reach a sub-goal helps maintain motivation and a sense of progress.”
