Time extension for Pavilion Gardens marquee
The temporary structure was put up after the Octagon closed its doors more than a year and a half a go for essential maintenance work, and provides a place for functions and meetings.
On Monday, members of the High Peak Borough Council’s Development Control Committee agreed to allow the marquee to remain in place until the end of March 2018 - an extension to the previously-agreed timeframe.

The works are scheduled to be completed by January 2018, and the additional two months was requested to allow for any unscheduled overrun.
High Peak borough councillor Tony Kemp, the authority’s deputy leader and executive councillor for tourism and regeneration, said: “We have been mindful of the need to offer a suitable, alternative venue during the Octagon closure so we avoid losing key and valued regular customers.
“We will be retaining the marquee until the repairs and improvement work is finished.”
