Police are appealing for information after thieves broke into a Derbyshire industrial estate and ransacked it, before making a getaway with valuables.

They smashed the window of a cabin on the site to gain entry to Harpur Hill Industrial Estate on Thursday, January 28.

Once inside, they carried out an ‘untidy search’ before making off with items such as a green coloured Worx hammer drill, a Samsung phone, and a radio.

Officers have been carrying out patrols in the area and are encouraging anyone who may have any information about the incident, or who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously near to the site, to contact them.

The break-in took place overnight between 5pm on Thursday, January 28 and 9.45am the following morning.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Jim Twort on 101, quoting crime number 4260/16, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
