The Hillmen have now lost four games in a row without scoring a goal ahead of their trip to 10th-placed Widnes on Saturday in Evo-Stik Northern Premier League West Division action.

On Saturday they were beaten 1-0 at Newcastle Town on Saturday, Rod Orlando-Young’s 55th minute goal sealing the destination of the points, despite Glossop deominating the first half. That left Glossop in the bottom two with just one win from their first 10 league games.

They made three changes for Tuesday night’s visit of FC United of Manchester in the Manchester Premier Cup first round.

The visitors had won the competition for the last two seasons and were always going to be tough opposition for North End, considering they are two divisions above, and a brace of goals by Elliot Simoes on 32 and 90 minutes saw United through.
